The term "white hat" in Internet slang refers to an ethical hacker, or a computer security expert, who specializes in penetration testing and in other testing methodologies to ensure the security of an organization's information systems.
Ethical-hacking is a term coined by IBM meant to imply a broader category than just penetration testing. White-hat hackers are also called "sneakers", red teams, or tiger teams.
White hats can be said as LEGAL HACKERS. they can hack any system which permission have been given to them and make proper use of it.
White Hats are the opposition of Black hats. When a illegal hacker hack a site the white hats again dis-hack the site and search for the hacker who caused this thing.
Generally white hats are in big companies so that their site are not been hacked. They preserve their company secrets and information and maintain secrecy and they are been paid for that only.
